“GLOBAL COMMITMENTS LOCAL PRACTICES- Adult learning and education to create the world we want”. This the slogan of  the World Assembly of the International Council of Adult Education (ICAE) that took place from 11 to 14 June 2015 in Montreal (http://waam2015.org/en).

The two main objectives fixed for this General Assembly were: to provide a collective space to strongly affirm the right to education and lifelong learning for all and its key role in enabling citizens to build more democratic, inclusive, just and environmentally sustainable world and to review priorities for lifelong learning and education, and to develop strategies for action at a global, regional and local level.

The following themes have been addressed:

-          Right to education and lifelong learning for all, beyond 2015

-          Capacity building for advocacy

-          Role of adult learning and education for sustainable development

-          Adult learning and education, power relations and community engagement

-          Quality inclusive education for all
